Six men take their lives every day. 20 out of 100 men will suffer anxiety. Another 12 out of 100 will endure depression. For the third year running, Black Sheep is using pedal power to promote a conversation about Men’s Mental Health. The Man Ride is unashamedly all about the Man. Raising awareness for a subject that is treated like a dark secret and shining a light on the growing rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide.
In honour of the men worldwide who suffer in silence and sadness, the Man Ride by Black Sheep Cycling, now in its third successive year, seeks out some of the most testing conditions experienced on two wheels, conquering 1000km in five days to create a conversation. The Man Ride 2018 will see 10 self-supported riders take on five continents in five days (Australia, America, South America, Europe and the UK) and culminate in our second successive Global Man Ride Day. To coincide with our pairs’ climatic day, they will be joined by riders from their local community to help broaden the conversation about Men’s Mental Illness.
